Are You looking For Travel Sites?
Most people love vacations and some thrive on traveling as far away from home as possible while others are content to vacation locally. Fortunately, there isn’t a corner of the earth that doesn’t have a travel site dedicated to it so it is easy obtaining information on the internet. Many people use the internet now to plan even complex travel plans, never seeing a travel agent. The main problem is the convenience of it all and the huge savings that can be found using the internet.
I know it is the norm now but I am not comfortable planning my once a year vacation like this. While this may be the way to book your holiday now, I still enjoy sitting front of a real person and not a computer screen. A travel agent will also fully expect changes to be made during the booking process and can be more flexible in their approach including when there are problems. The problem I find with travel sites is there is no-one to speak to and I find this very impersonal; if you are fortunate enough to find someone to speak with they may be in another country for all you know.
If you do speak to someone, they may just tell you what you want to hear which is easy and what are the chances you will be able to find them? It is this fear of the problems that can occur and if they do happen it is too late that prevents me from being more trusting in the way that I trust my travel agent. Whereas a good friend of mine only ever books her vacations online and always those advertised at the last minute; probably from cancellations. By browsing online she has made some amazing savings by just waiting until the last possible minute to book the vacation.
I wish I could do this but my work just wouldn’t allow me to suddenly take time of as they normally need a couple of months notice. I don’t doubt for one minute that by using a travel site can be less expensive as you can also get discounts on tours and car hire by booking this way. Knowing a little about what you want and information about the location you want to travel too can be useful so I still research as much of this as I can online before I pay my travel agent a visit. This way, if I book my vacation through my travel agent, should anything go wrong, I know I can go and complain in person.
